A DAY FOR LOVE

Valentine’s day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or Feast of Saint Valentine’s is celebrated annually on February 14. In most of the first world countries, February 14 is considered as a national holiday. Valentine’s Day has specially come to become a day made for lovers. Even in the media, Valentine’s Day is portrayed as a day meant for lovers. However, Valentine’s day has a much larger appeal. It is a day to express love and that love can be for anyone and not specially a lover.

Beside that every year we celebrate this day by showing the people around us how much we love and care for them. It is a day when we all show our love for the one we care and for the one who is very special to us. Valentine’s Day is mostly considered as an international festival celebrating feeling of love.

Even though this year we are experiencing pandemic, still I felt loved, bless and special because I felt the love and care of the people around me and of course because of the love of God.

Philippine Independence Declared

 During the Spanish American War, Filipino rebels led by Emilio Aguinaldo proclaim the independence of the Philippines after 300 years of Spanish rule. By mid-August, Filipino rebels and U.S. troops had ousted the Spanish, but Aguinaldo’s hopes for independence were dashed when the United States formally annexed the Philippines as part of its peace treaty with Spain.
